The treatment for cervical spondylosis is either conservative or interventional surgical. Initially, the Conservative method is chosen by giving medications like nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, diclofenac, or nimesulide. Other medications given are steroid drugs like prednisolone, to reduce pain and inflammation. Muscle relaxants are also given to relieve pain. Physiotherapy, wearing a soft neck brace around the neck, and application of an ice pack are advised to reduce the pain, stiffness, and inflammation. If the pain and symptoms persist, then surgical removal of the herniated disc or bone spurs from the cervical vertebra is done.
